Ministry and Discipleship Opportunities
There are plenty of ways you can get involved in ministry at Bruner's Chapel to use the gifts and talents God has given you. Teachers, assistants, bus and van drivers, and prayer warriors are always needed. Other special needs come up from time to time, such as collecting and delivering items to those in need and helping out in the kitchen during a special event. In addition, read about the opportunities below. Contact our church office to let them know how you would like to help.
3:16 Production
Our black light Puppet Team Ministry, 3:16 Production, practices each Sunday from 4:30-5:50 PM. Black light puppets were purchased for our team by individual church members, families, and Sunday School classes who "adopted" them, and one of our members built a large, portable stage for our performances. The team presents the Gospel through skits and songs, and performs for church events as well as throughout the community. New puppeteers are always welcome, as well as stage hands and those interested in creating props. This is a great way to use your gift of creativity.
Children's Church and Nursery
Children's Church meets each Sunday during part of the worship service for children ages preschool through third grade. Our nursery provides care for infants and toddlers during Sunday School and the morning worship service. Volunteers are put on a list and notified ahead of time which Sunday they will be needed.
Fall Frolic
Our annual Fall Frolic is held each year in September or October. The whole community is invited to come and play games, win prizes, hear the Gospel, be entertained, and enjoy a free meal. Volunteers are always needed to donate prizes, register guests, set up and run game booths, cook, clean, and be greeters.
Media Ministry
The Media Ministry utilizes projection equipment to display sermon points, lyrics, and videos during worship. Volunteers are needed to run the projection equipment and sound board each Sunday morning. Anyone interested in learning to use this equipment can see Mark Edwards.
Mission Groups
Women on Mission, Brotherhood, Youth, Children in Action, and Mission Friends meet to learn about missions and missionaries, give to missions, and complete mission action projects. WOM and Brotherhood meet the first Wednesday of each month. The children's groups (Children in Action and Mission Friends) meet every Wednesday night. In addition the Willing Workers meet at 9:00 AM the first Monday of each month to promote and participate in mission activities. Past mission projects our church has participated in include providing Little Debbie snack cakes with Bible verses on them for area funeral homes, collecting school supplies for needy students, repairing homes for those who can't, handing out VBS and revival flyers, and collecting items for the Isaiah House, Christian Life Center, and Galilean Home ministries. There is always a need for members to come and help out.
Operation Christmas Child
Each year, Bruner's Chapel participates in Operation Christmas Child by collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts for children around the world.
Praise Team
Our praise team leads worship each Sunday morning. Practice is held each Tuesday evening at 6:00. Please contact Debbie Mullaney for more information.
Prayer
There is a prayer request board in the sanctuary with special requests from individuals with prayer needs. Please use this to pray for our church, personal family needs, and our nation and its leaders, as well as our president, our town and community, and our state and local leaders. Revival is needed and we should always pray for those who are in need of a personal relationship with Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Transportation Ministry
If you would be interested in bringing people to church on the church van on Wednesday evenings or Sunday mornings, please call our church office.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a big event at BCBC! It is held for one week each summer to help children from nursery age through youth learn more about Jesus. Workers are always needed to teach, assist, prepare meals, decorate, and bring children to VBS. It is typically held in June.
Pray for Our Missionaries
Earl and Robin Pinkston are from Mercer County. They serve as IMB Missionaries in Malta. They have three children--Nathan, Thomas, and Kathryn. Stay informed of their prayer needs through Malta Mondays, and please keep them in your prayers.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 1 Peter 4:10, ESV
